Loved it!!

It was magical πŸ˜‰

So this story is about two sisters who live with a not-so-nice father. You have the more reserved sister, Scarlett, and the wild one, Donatella. They live in a time where marriages are arranged so the reserved sister is planned to get married soon which makes her believe that as soon as she’s wed, she’ll take her sister with her and they will be safe from her father.

So where Caraval comes in: it’s a game that travels. You have to invited to the game in order to play. The winner gets one wish. The reserved sister has been writing to Legend, the mastermind behind Caraval, for years. Finally she got an invitation. Scarlett has been dreaming of this forever but doesn’t feel it’s a good idea to leave her home since because her father will flip out if he ever found out. Donatella on the other hand thinks this is the perfect way out for them and tricks her sister into going.

But wait, to get you guys even more intrigued. It turns out that this time, the Caraval revolves all around the sisters. Why, you may ask?! Well, go get the book and find out!!

The game itself is really interesting. I don’t want to give too much away because the point of my reviews is to help you guys decide whether you should pick this book up or not and not to get too deep into the moral of the story or what not.

But I mentioned that it was magical and that is because there is magic involved. And not so much like people throwing magic tricks around but more like illusions and the game playing mind tricks on its contestants.

And of course, there is love involved. Duh.

It’s a really good story line. A little spoiler: there are plot twists!! I love those. You think you know how it’s going to end and you’re like “ooh okay. Good…eh…and happily ever after” and BOOM! Psych. Plot twist.

Okay, but serious question: when are you too old to read YA books? I love them. I just don’t pick anything else up because I know I’ll love my YAs and even though people rave about other books and it gets reviews, I’m just like, “eehhh. I don’t like the real world.” And I just I won’t get into it.

I mean I have read “real world” books. (Haha. You guys know what I mean by “real world”, right?! I mean it’s not dystopian, it’s not sci-fi, it’s not vampires.) Such as 50 Shades of Grey, Just One Day, A Cup of Tea, etc. I loved them. But when I read what a book is about, I’m instantly intrigued when I see that it’s so imaginative.

Anyway, that’s my take on Caraval. I do believe there will be a second book to this. I hope! And it would be an amazing movie.

So, yes, go get it and read it like now!

Byeeeeee!
